This is what is called a BBC code. The abreviation stands for Bring Back Code, but we have modified its use to include more than just the reason we brought back some freight.
Our codes are use to describe either the current status of the freight or to describe the situation at delivery. For example, the code "WC" means that the freight is on our dock waiting as a will call delivery, on the other hand the code "DWC" means that will call delivery has been made. WC is a un-delivered code and DWC is a delivered code.
The codes are also used in the system to determine if a late delivery is considered a service hit, if normal service standards apply or if their was O.S & D. Examples of this are: AD is appointment delivery therefore normal service standards don't apply, DS is a delivered shipment that was delivered short.
